Justin Bieber: “God is Good in the Midst of the Darkness” Only two weeks since a suicide bomber left 22 dead and more than 50 others injured at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, more than 50,000 people came together to raise money and stand in support of the victims, their families, and the city of Manchester. A-list stars came out to perform and offer a token of unity to the crowds, but when Justin Bieber hit the stage, he took the focus off of himself, and put it on the goodness of God. Bieber started by sharing some emotional words with the crowd “I just want to say thank you so much for having me. You guys are so brave,” he said. “What an amazing thing we’re doing tonight, would you not agree? Would you agree that love always wins?” Then he did something that no one was expecting… He really started preaching “I’m not gonna let go of hope, I’m not gonna let go of love, I’m not gonna let go of God. Put your hand up if you’re not gonna let go...

It is now a difficult moment for transporters, commuters and motorists shuttling  between the northern and southern parts of the country through Ilorin-Mokwa-Jebba road. This is because the two major bridges linking the two parts of the country collapsed in the last  two weeks as a result of torrential rainfall in the area. One of the bridges is in Tatabu/ Gidan Moin along Jebba- Mokwa road while the  other, Bokani bridge, is  along Tegina-Makera road, both in Mokwa Local Government Area of the state. Bokani bridge was  washed off last week, forcing vehicles, especially trucks, to divert  from  Makera- Tegina road to Bida- Minna road. Tatabu bridge, washed away, last Sunday night  after a torrential rainfall, has left  all categories of vehicles plying the busy road stranded for days while some trucks fell into the bridge but no life lost. Some smaller vehicles were however lucky to escape from the spot after creating alternative routes...

Soludo: How Nigeria can get out of Recession- Former CBN Governor

A recession is perhaps rather simply a reduction in economic activities, particularly in trade and industry, it is generally accompanied by rising  inflation.  In my view, a focus on inflation is an ideal way to explain a recession to Nigerians. Inflation means rising prices due to a reduction in a currency’s purchasing power. Basically, as prices rise people spend more on less, this creates a knock down effect which reduces economic activity. For example, the average University student who used to visit the barber two times a month, due to having to spend more on food now visits every two months. The barber’s income is reduced so he too cuts down on his spending. The reason I’m emphasizing inflation is due to an in my opinion very dangerous idea that is slowly taking root. Seriously, looking at where we find ourselves despite our “potentialities” (as our Senators keep saying), despite our culture being very respectful of elders, I think its fair to say if an economic idea ...
